HumanQ: What do you think stops us from being our best selves and living our best lives?
Hayley : We often live our lives through the perspective of what we think we “should” be doing or what we “should” have accomplished. These unnecessary expectations we put on ourselves can create shame, frustration or disappointment and stop us from embracing ourselves as we truly are and enjoying life “as is”.
HumanQ: What is the most powerful question a leader can ask someone they are Coaching?
Hayley : How can I best support you right now” - knowing you have the support of your leader, no matter what the situation, changes everything!
HumanQ: What has been your biggest failure and what did you learn from that experience?
Hayley : Early in my Coaching practice, I experienced burnout very quickly. It taught me that asking for help will lighten the burden. Plus it made me realize that some dreams take years to come to fruition - be prepared to play the long-game and plan accordingly!
HumanQ: What do you think stops us from being our best selves and living our best lives?
Hayley : Very early in my career I received some negative feedback about people’s perception of me. It was a total blind spot and not at all how I wanted to be perceived. This conversation was so powerful that it completely changed how I showed up (for the better!) but also demonstrated how important it is to have uncomfortable conversations and how life-changing feedback can be.
HumanQ: If you had a Magic Coach Wand and could help someone develop a new way of thinking overnight, what would it be?
Hayley : I think it would be to help Coachees to truly see themselves through the eyes of those people that love and respect them. Often our self-perception is so filtered (and negative) that if my Coachees could see all the amazing things other people see in them, it would change how they feel about themselves and how they show up in the world.
